Nall will speek about the government's violation of personal rights through the prohibition of marijuana and the failure of the nation's "drug war," is sponsored by the Auburn College Libertarians. "My group, the Auburn Libertarians, attempts to show ways the government violates rights and how to make the government smaller," said Dick Clark, president of the College Libertarians. Mark Thornton, a senior at the Mises Institute, a research and educational center of classical liberalism, libertarian and political theory and the Austrian School of economics, will introduce Nall. "She'll be speaking on marijuana prohibition and why it is harmful to the American society," Clark said. Clark said Nall offers a different view from the usual Democrat or Republican. "One (view) that Bush and Kerry have in common is the insane war on drugs. Some people feel it's ridiculous," Clark said. "We're showing someone who concentrates on something different." Clark said people who don't support the war on drugs have no reason to watch debates on the issue. The U.S. Marijuana Party is supporting Sen. John Kerry for president, Clark said. They hope Kerry, if elected, will look at the drug policy and make medical marijuana a state right. - --- MAP posted-by: Richard Lake
