This is the same George Soros who: # Financed phony ads in California and Arizona in an attempt to legalize drugs; # Stated in his autobiography, "Soros on Soros," that he favors legalizing all drugs; # In the Financial Times stated that United States foreign policy is "Orwellian doublespeak" and an "imperialist vision" and cannot be reconciled with his hope for an open society; # According to the Washington Times, believes an open society is one in which the sovereignty of the United States must be subordinated to international law and international institutions such as the United Nations and its International Criminal Court, and wherein it was also stated that in Soros' world, the ends always justify the needs; # Believes you can basically do whatever you want, especially drugs -- without any consequences; # Has centered his drug legalization efforts in the Drug Policy Alliance and Drug Strategies and the ACLU; # According to the Foundation Watch, is now concentrating on his goal of fostering a global society -- "to make an impact on how governments and international institutions conduct themselves." Recently, Soros has funded efforts to repeal California's tough "three strikes and you're out" law and a campaign to defeat the sitting Albany, N.Y., district attorney for enforcing strict drug laws. Is this the kind of person we want influencing elections and thereby influencing law enforcement and drug policies? I submit from a law enforcement perspective, he certainly is not! STEVEN A.
