THANKS, REPORTER, FOR ALERT ON TEEN 'HUFFING'

The recent article on "Kids Getting High" on household materials was
very important information to share with parents. Thank you for
alerting the community to this potentially deadly activity.

I do not know of any youth or adult who says, "When I grow up, I think
I will be an addict." People do not intend to reach this point of
addiction, but it starts somewhere. Youth start with experimenting
with huffing, alcohol, marijuana or other substances. This can lead to
more involved use, abuse and eventual dependency.

The Alcohol & Drug Abuse Resource Center offers services in AODA
counseling, interventions and education. Thanks to generous donations
of the community to the Fond du Lac Area United Way, we, as a partner
agency of United Way, are able to offer all services at no charge.

The Reporter has provided an important service to parents by bringing
issues such as huffing to their attention. I encourage you to continue
informing all of the community on the issues that affect our youth.
