LEGALIZE MARIJUANA; QUIT THROWING TAX DOLLARS AT NONVIOLENT OFFENDERS

I strongly urge you to keep an open mind when it comes to voting "yes"
on Measure 2 on Nov. 2. Alaskans who are 21 and over should have the
right to keep a regulated amount of marijuana in the privacy of their
own home. Our tax dollars are going into overcrowded jails filled with
nonviolent offenders. Our police force should focus on more serious
crimes instead of arresting people who are not harming anyone. If our
young Alaska men and women are legally allowed to kill themselves
slowly with cigarettes, I don't see why marijuana, which actually
helps people, should be a criminal offense.
