PROHIBITION HAS TURNED A PLANT INTO GOLD

Another massive marijuana grow op was brought down in our city.
("Enormous dope operation discovered," Nov. 4): I am sure it is just a
drop in the bucket. Prohibition has turned a plant into gold.

Marijuana, if legalized, would take a huge bite out of organized
crime. Why would legalizing marijuana differ from legalizing alcohol?
Why do we not use some intelligence -- quit this futile game and
legalize it? Prohibition finances organized crime. The facts cannot be
ignored.
