DECRIMINALIZATION DOES NOTHING

I'm writing about Al Graham's thoughtful Dec. 1 letter and your
not-so-thoughtful comment: "We back decriminalization, not
legalization." (Dec. 1). Marijuana is the problem and
decriminalization does nothing to get the criminals out of the
marijuana business. Notice liquor sellers and producers no longer
settle their disputes with gun battles in the streets -- but marijuana
sellers and producers do.
