MOTORCYCLE DRIVER KILLED VIGILANTE-STYLE

ANOTHER man was killed vigilante-style along Mahogany Alley in Barangay
8-A, Davao City, Saturday night.

The latest and the 96th victim killed by unidentified suspects since
January this year was identified as Jose Apollo Panal, 34, habal-habal
driver, and resident of Exodus in Bangkerohan, Barangay 8-A.

Initial investigation conducted by SPO4 Helson Benian of the San Pedro
Police Precinct said that Panal was walking along Mahogany Alley at around
10 p.m. when an unidentified man appeared and shot him several times.

Panal, who succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head, died instantly, while
the suspect rushed off and boarded a waiting motorcycle.

Police recovered three empty shells of caliber 45 pistol at the scene of crime.

The cadaver of the victim was brought to Angel funeral Homes.

The San Pedro police are conducting further investigation to know the
background of the victim.

On Thursday, John Rey Reducto, 17, trisikad driver, of Pag-asa, Kilometer 5
in Buhangin, was gunned down by unidentified suspect while on his way home
at around 12:45 p.m.

Police recovered suspected dried marijuana leaves inside the victim's
wallet, although the victim's mother refused to believe that her son was
into drugs.
