This was true in the '60s, today and most likely forever. If only the
powers that be were half as wise as John Hieger! If (someone) would
have told me back in 1970 that we would be so provincial now, I would
have thought them a fool. Guess the joke (or more correctly, tragedy)
is on us. We retrogress at an amazing rate.

I am sure Hieger will find this hard to believe, but an amazing
amount of his acquaintances will forget this simple logic as they age.
Check out the bios of individuals like (Abbie) Hoffman or (Jerry)
Rubin. Sadly, idealism appears to subordinate itself to greed!
