OFFICER ARRESTED FOR COCAINE POSSESSION

An Orlando police officer was arrested today on a charge of cocaine
possession after he called deputies to his Osceola County home, the
Osceola Sheriff's Office said.

Daniel Peter Zocchi, 35, of the sprawling Buenaventura Lakes
neighborhood, called 911 about 12:30 a.m. because he was "upset and
distraught," Osceola sheriff's spokesman Deputy Al DeArmas said.
Zocchi let deputies in, and they noticed a plastic bag on the
living-room floor that tested positive for cocaine, investigators
said. Zocchi appeared to have been drinking, DeArmas said.

Zocchi was in protective custody today at the Osceola County Jail
awaiting an afternoon first appearance in court. He is paid suspension
from the Orlando police, Orlaando Sgt. Brian Gilliam said.
