Musician David Crosby was arrested on marijuana and gun possession charges early Saturday at a Times Square hotel, police said. Crosby, 62, a two-time inductee to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, was arrested with 28 grams of marijuana, a .45-calibre handgun and a knife in his possession, police said. The veteran rocker had checked out of his hotel, but left behind a piece of luggage, police said. A hotel worker found the luggage Friday and went through it looking for identification and discovered the marijuana, gun and knife and called authorities, police said. Crosby later called the hotel to say he would be returning to pick up the luggage, and was greeted by police when he came back, investigators said. Crosby was charged with illegal possession of a hunting knife, illegal possession of ammunition -- he had three magazines with a total of 26 rounds -- and illegal possession of marijuana. He was released on $3,500 US bail. HOLLYWOOD NORTH Chances are good that Robin Williams and Meg Ryan will come to Winnipeg as early as April to star in The Big White, a movie written by former Winnipegger Collin Friesen. Williams would play an Alaskan travel agent looking to escape the cold, and Ryan has been touted to play his foul-mouthed wife, who suffers from "psychosomatic Tourette's Syndrome." UNDEMOCRATIC STYLE Pundits jumped all over Urban Outfitters for featuring a $28 T-shirt that says "Voting Is for Old People." "I'm the one to blame," designer John Keddie said from San Diego. "I think the shirt is funny. It's meant to be a joke. People took it the wrong way." Keddie, 25, admits he didn't vote in last week's California primary, but swears he'll vote in the general election. ONCE A BODYBUILDER . . . On his annual visit to Columbus Ohio, for the fitness convention he owns, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger waxed nostalgic for his days as a champion bodybuilder, declaring bodybuilding to be the "foundation" of his work in politics. "No matter what I do, if it is acting or if it is business or if it is politics," he told a crowd of more than 5,000 Saturday, "I will always be a bodybuilder." - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
