I am writing this in response to the hate-mongering letter that Mr.
Doerfling felt it necessary to write last week.

I dare to say those people will not mug and beat up a helpless old
lady in order to "score some bud." How dare you incite such backwards,
vigilante thinking. Did these people threaten you in any way? Did they
yell obscenities? Use a weapon? Did they at any time make you feel
frightened to be in their presence? I sincerely doubt it.

You make statements about shaking hands with officers that take it
upon themselves to operate outside of the boundaries of the law. You
make statements that lead one to believe you applaud vigilante
actions. What if it happens to you? Are you saying that you never
break the law? You never threaten someone? You never speed? You always
wear your bike helmet? You never litter, even a small piece of paper?

The RCMP have alot to deal with on a daily basis and jumping to your
beck and call is not very high on their priority list when it is
something so insignificant as a couple of people possibly smoking a
joint on a trail.
