That new platform (www.summitcountydemocrats.com) includes language broadly calling for credible drug law reform and specifically includes allowing American farmers to grow hemp like other farmers around the world and to stop the federal government's war on sick citizens who use cannabis to feel better. With about 50 percent of potential young adult voters having tried cannabis, it's increasingly clear to this group that cannabis is not nearly as harmful as the government propaganda dictates, and the war on drugs is at best a failure. As there is an effort to influence young adults to vote it's becoming clear that the war on drugs is even used by the Bush administration to fix elections. Those young adult voters know this. Now, the Summit County Democrats new county platform acknowledges cannabis/hemp as something to be protected not exterminated. Young voters now may identify with a political party that knows it also. Democracy needs young voters. And if that's not enough to garner young voters, consider that the guy sitting in the president's seat must reinstate the draft if allowed to continue in that direction.
