In his motion, Somerville noted that significant damage is done to properties to accommodate grow-ops, leading to greater chance of fire and personal injury. He is requesting that a meeting be set up between town senior staff, Halton Hills Hydro and Halton Police to discuss the merits of requiring all former grow-op properties to get occupancy permits before the homes are reused by an unsuspecting family. Somerville said this measure is required in some other municipalities. He added that in a case of one Halton Hills home, the town's Building Zoning and Enforcement Department insisted on new building and occupancy permits due to the extent of the home's damage. - --- MAP posted-by: Terry Liittschwager
