EXPO MARKS UN DRUGS ABUSE DAY

DRUGS will go on display today at the Jawad Food Garden from 10am to 10pm.

The exhibition is being organised by the Northern Governorate in
collaboration with Interior Ministry as part of activities to mark the
United Nations International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug
Trafficking, which was celebrated around the world last Saturday.

The UN Office on Drugs and Crime is celebrating the annual event this year
under the theme Let's talk about drugs.

Meanwhile, the Central Governorate held an open seminar titled Drugs Destroy
You and Kill You at the Gulf Air Club in Salmabad yesterday.

It focused on the religious, medical and legal aspects of drug abuse.

The Northern Governor-ate is also holding seminars to discuss the issue.

The first, Drugs ... a Monster Threatening Our Society will be held in
co-operation with the Islamic Enlightenment Society, at Musaab bin Umair
Mosque, Hamad Town on July 6 at 9pm.

The second seminar, How to Protect our Children from Drugs, is being held in
association with the Buri Charity Fund, at Matam Al Imam Al Baqer Mosque,
Buri on July 20 at 8.30pm
