The Afghan government was a first-time participant in the meeting that was held under the auspices of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Pakistan and Iran already have a MoU to check narcotics smuggling in the region. The Afghan government was also invited to sign the MoU. The Afghan delegation agreed. The MoU will be signed later. During the meeting, cross-border narcotics smuggling was discussed in detail.
