LET STATES' RIGHTS PREVAIL

The U.S. Supreme Court needs to read the U.S. Constitution ("Medical
marijuana patients can be prosecuted, Supreme Court says," June 6).

Congratulations are in order to Chief Justice William Rehnquist,
Justice Clarence Thomas and Justice Sandra Day O'Conner for dissenting
in this erroneous decision and recognizing the 10th Amendment to the
Constitution, which says that all rights not granted to the federal
government belong to the states and their people.

Whether or not you agree with medical marijuana use, this Supreme
Court decision struck a blow against the U.S. Constitution. How can
this error be rectified? The individual juries in the individual cases
utilizing jury nullification will have to overturn this federal
abuse-of-power court decision.
