"I'm having difficulty beating the deadline but I'm trying hard," Manding said. Manding said Duterte challenged him and other officials of barangays to cleanse their barangays of illegal drugs during the Inter-agency Task Force meeting at the Grand Menseng Hotel on Monday afternoon. During the meeting, Duterte even dangled P1 million, a flashy car and a quota of 20 contractual workers to barangay officials who can identify a shabu laboratory. The mayor also offered a P5,000 reward for anybody who can pinpoint a drug pusher and another P20,000 who can identify a barangay official involved in illegal drug activities. Manding said he already released the information to the barangay leaders. "All illegal movements in the barangay are now closely monitored," Manding said, adding that monitoring of warehouses and other big establishments has been intensified. Manding, also the president of the Association of Barangay Council, said he has identified three suspected drug pushers in his barangays and will ask them soon to surrender. He said the three, all Maranaos like, should surrender. "They have to face the risk," Manding said. - ---
