WAR AND MORE

Editor, Naples Daily News:

Columnist Cal Thomas wondered what happened to unconditional surrender as
an American war policy. My answer to that question is that unconditional
surrender is no longer operable. It was such a terrible idea during World
War II, an example of shooting oneself in the foot, that it has now joined
the ranks of history's dumbest decisions.

Other examples include Prohibition, letting in the Trojan Horse, Pearl
Harbor, Adolf Hitler's invasion of the Soviet Union, Germany's unlimited
U-boat warfare in World War I, the war on drugs, the invasion of
Afghanistan by the Soviet Union, the Charge of the Light Brigade, the U.S.
Supreme Court's 2000 Florida election ruling, nutty George III's treatment
of the 13 colonies and the Boer War.

That list could go on and on, but it would be difficult to top President
Bush's invasion of Iraq.

Cal Thomas should ask the question, where are the responsible church
leaders? Are they afraid to voice opposition? Responsible politicians?
Citizens? Afraid?

Impeachment is the only legal way to replace Bush, unless he resigns. So
write your congressmen. Get the ball rolling to keep these miscreants in
Washington from making more dumb decisions.
