DEA'S ENTRAPMENT SCHEMES ARE SUSPECT

Re: Pot activist's bail set at $50,000, Aug. 3

Curiouser and curiouser. We learn from Marc Emery's bail hearing that U.S.
Drug Enforcement Administration agents were in Vancouver for no less than
10 months committing criminal acts (the very ones Emery is charged with)
and enticing Canadian citizens to participate in them.

Who, exactly, gave permission for American agents to engage in criminal
activity on Canadian soil? Is this common? If not, why in this case? If it
is common, just how many American agents are roaming our country trying to
entrap Canadians into crime?

It's time for our government to answer these questions.

The DEA called the case "outstanding co-operation" from Canadian officials.
Canadian voters might call it something else.
