LEGALIZING DRUGS LIKE ENDING PROHIBITION

In reference to your editorial Our Bumper Pot Crop (Aug. 24), how many
letters does it take to convince you the best way to reduce the harm of
illegal drugs is to legalize all drugs?

Thousands died during the prohibition of alcohol, but the deaths fell
almost to zero when alcohol was legalized again.

Al Capone and many others of his ilk became very rich and powerful when
alcohol was prohibited, only to fade away when alcohol was legalized again.

I hope you are not supporting our current drug laws because you're afraid
that reducing crime and violence will reduce sales of your newspaper.
