Bacolod City police director, Senior Supt. Vicente Ponteras, yesterday said he believes the assailants who stabbed and mutilated an 18-year-old waiter at the Star Hut Grillery and Fastfood in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City Thursday morning, were under the influence of drugs. Ponteras said Jonas Tacdoro Baynosa, alias "Tata", of Purok Spur-2, Brgy. Minapasok, Calatrava town in Negros Occidental, had been brutally killed by more than one assailant as shown by the stab wounds he sustained. He said he has ordered Senior Insp. Romeo Gomez, Police Precinct 4 commander, to file murder charges against Baynosa's alleged assailant Norman Bawaan, alias "Gardik", of Calatrava town, who is now at-large. At least, Ponteras said, Bawaan can be arrested when the Court issues his warrant of arrest. Meanwhile, in a phone interview, SPO2 Jessie Baylon, case investigator, yesterday said he has not filed a case before the City Prosecutor's Office because the family asked for a few days to bury the remains of Baynosa first. Baylon said he is not discounting the possibility that Baynosa was killed by two or more persons because of his wounds and the four knives with bloodstains that were recovered from the scene. He has not established possible angles for the murder yet, Baylon said. An autopsy report earlier revealed that Baynosa died of loss of blood. He sustained 23 stab wounds, abrasions, lacerated wounds and his private part had been cut off. - ---
