So far, seven lives have been taken this year alone due to auto theft! The late Chuck Cadman was an awesome man and an inspiration to many. Cadman, having lost his own son by a young offender, fought to change the law prior to his death; introducing stiffer sentences - for vehicular crime, especially when it involves criminal negligence causing bodily harm. Crystal meth is so prevalent that it's readily available around every street corner, leading to crime left and right. The federal government should realize that drugs are causing the crime. Wouldn't it be great to have the same go for crystal meth drug-pushers and users? At best, it's eating away at their brains. At worst, crystal meth is killing people, the most recent, a 13 year-old from Victoria this past week. It's becoming a horrible epidemic. If nothing drastic is done, in five to 10 years there will be a generation of youth made unemployable through drug use. The government should take a hard look at the underlying issues of why crime takes place. I urge all concerned citizens to attend an upcoming crystal meth presentation on Tuesday, Sept. 27th at Community Services, Agassiz. Cost. Luelo will be discussing the dangers and effects of this drug, etc. from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Marina Striker Agassiz - ---
