SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE

I'D LIKE to express my heartfelt condolences to anybody who has lost a
loved one as the result of the illegal drug operations and their
products in this great country. That being said, I'm not sure that
putting the hammer down on cannabis production and use is going to
ensure that lives will be saved as a result.

Marijuana, although illegal (unless you have a prescription), is the
most widely used and socially acceptable contraband on the market. It
doesn't matter how much more it is policed, it will still continue to
be available and people will still use it. I think harsher penalties
for production will mean that the only people left growing and selling
it will be the ones with the most disdain for the law.
