DAD GIVEN 1-WEEK EXTENSION TO CLEAR VILLAGE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS

DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte approved the request of City Councilor
Amilbangsa Manding for a week extension to clear his barangay of illegal drugs.

Duterte said he will give Manding additional one week and one day to make
good his promise.

The mayor said he has so much confidence on Manding's capability to clear
Barangay 23-C of illegal drugs within the given period.

Manding's barangay, more popularly known as Mini-forest, has been
identified as a hotbed of illegal drugs in the city.

In fact, several shooting incidents allegedly perpetrated by the Davao
Death Squad happened in Manding's barangay in the past.

Last January 18, Manding assured the mayor of the support of the
Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in his anti-drugs campaign.

Duterte earlier promised barangay leaders a P1 million reward for anyone
who can pinpoint a shabu laboratory in their areas.

Additional vehicles and accommodation of 20 of their recommendees for jobs
at the city hall were also among the rewards that would be given to the
barangay leaders.
