POT PROHIBITION BRINGS OUT THE WORST IN THIEVES

Dear Editor:

A recent article you published had an incomplete title, "Pot Brings
Out The Worst In Thieves" (Oct. 22). The title should have been Pot
Prohibition Brings Out The Worst In Thieves.

If the government did not spend billions of our tax dollars each year
keeping marijuana illegal and making a humble plant more valuable than
gold, pot thieves would not be a concern. Rather than continuing to
arrest over 750,000 Americans per year, more than the total for all
violent crimes combined, marijuana should be regulated much like alcohol is.

A regulated cannabis market would make our communities safer by
redirecting law enforcement services back to serving and protecting,
and creating tax revenues instead of marijuana prohibition costs.
Marijuana prohibition is a "luxury" we can no longer afford.
