During the week, said Mountain Home Counselor Orene Traylor, the school will take a visible stand against drugs and show a personal commitment for a drug-free lifestyle. Any student who comes by the counselor's office during the week will receive a Red Ribbon pen. The schedule of events is as follows: Today -- The theme is "Turn your back on drugs." Students and teachers will wear their clothes backwards. Thursday -- The theme is "Sock it to Drugs." Students will pull out their craziest socks and wear them. Monday -- Prizes will be awarded for the craziest red hat. Along with these activities, the high school will have a Red Ribbon door-decorating contest. One winner will be selected from each academy. Norfork High School Counselor Darlene Landrum said the school also will have activities for Red Ribbon Week. The schedule is as follows: Today -- The theme of the day is "Too cool for drugs." Students will wear hats and sunglasses. Thursday -- The theme of the day is "Drugs don't 'mix' with me." Students will wear mix/matched clothes. Friday -- An assembly program will feature student talent including singers, musicians, ballet dancers, drama club skit and awarding of prizes. The theme of the day is "Simple pleasures are good without drugs." Students will wear hillbilly clothes. Prizes will be awarded throughout the week. - --- MAP posted-by: Richard Lake
