N.D. PUPILS TAKE PART IN RED RIBBON WEEK ACTIVITIES

Students at Notre Dame Elementary School in Burlington will take part
in Red Ribbon Week with a variety of events and special activities,
all with the theme of "Drug Free ... I Can Be Anything I Want To Be!"

Today, students will sign or color a smiley face pledging to be drug
free. These will be displayed in the hallway. The school band will
give a presentation to start off the week. Today also is Wear Red
Day, and students may wear a red shirt with their uniform pants.

On Tuesday, a prayer will be read and distributed at the conclusion of Mass.

Students will be allowed to dress up Wednesday as something they want
to be when they grow up.

On Thursday, students will watch a presentation by the Burlington
Police Department's K--9 unit.

On Friday, students will wear their favorite team shirt in
conjunction with the already--scheduled jeans day for "team up
against drugs." Friday activities will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a
presentation from Get A Grip, and then stay for games in the gym.
