This raises the total of people summarily executed for the month to 42, with still one day left before the month ends. The victims were identified as Kunan dela Cruz, 22, of Soliman, Barangay Monteverde, Agdao; Edgar Allan Duga, of Isla Verde in Agdao; and his friend Chito Vargas, of Lastima Compound in Matina Crossing. At around 1:20 p.m., according to Sta. Ana police investigator PO3 Leonardo Tarongoy, dela Cruz was sitting along an alley near his house when four unidentified men onboard two motorcycles appeared. One of them alighted from the motorcycle, approached dela Cruz and shot him. Dela Cruz managed to run away but the suspect chased him. He was later cornered and shot several times. A six-year-old boy named Edward Bautista, and one Genesis Maandi, 22, of the same place, were hit by stray bullets. Bautista, who was hit in his shoulder, and Maandi on his left hand and right elbow, were brought by their neighbors to the Davao Medical Center (DMC) for treatment. Dela Cruz succumbed to several gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body and was declared dead at the hospital. Nine empty shells and two slugs of a caliber .45 pistol were recovered by the police at the scene of crime. Dela Cruz, who was an alleged former leader of Pantan 666 gang, was involved in some troubles in their place. That was then, though, the victim's brother Jerry said. Dela Cruz, he said, has reformed after meeting the woman who became his wife. Dela Cruz's wife is pregnant. Jerry recalled that his brother mauled a member of the Talim gang, a week ago. Later on the same day, Duga and Vargas were killed at the entrance of the UM Matina campus by unidentified motorcycle-riding men after the concert of singer Kitchie Nadal held at the UM Matina gymnasium at around 10:30 p.m. The investigation report by the Talomo police, however, said the victims were from a barangay fiesta in Matina Gravahan and just chanced on the concertgoers who were by then going out of the venue. Two men clad in jacket were the ones who fired at them several times, hitting them on the head and face. One Camilo del Rosario, who was there when the incident happened, was also hit with a stray bullet in his head. He is in critical condition at the DMC. Seven empty shells caliber .45 pistol were recovered at the crime scene. Suspected dried marijuana leaves were also recovered in the pocket of the victims. The victims' slay came after the killing of one Kenneth Lamprang, 19, who was an alleged leader of the Kidnoa gang. Lamprang was killed by vigilantes in Mintal public market on January 27 at around 8:30 p.m. - ---
