Students had fun every day promoting a quite serious subject: the drug problem in our culture and how to make it better by encouraging others to choose to be "drug-free." Each day had a theme, and there were drawings for prizes, also. The drug-free armband had to be worn at all times in order to compete. Monday was the "kick-off" contest to see how many targets students could hit with a kick ball. Winners of the contest were Ashton Calhoun, Sam Porter, and Derek King. Prize drawing winners were Crystopher Jones, Matthew Emery & Chris Clark. Tuesday was "BIG RED DAY." The students and faculty actually saw how much RED one person could wear. Contest winners were: 3rd place-Racheal Burris and Virginia Stalnacker; 2nd place-Danielle Wright; 1st place-THE BIG RED-Marcus Balentine. Prize drawing winners were: Jonathan Peavy, Andi Turner, & Shawna Emery. Wednesday was DRUGS ARE A BIG HAIRY DEAL day. Who's got the biggest hair at our school? (judged on height & volume) Winners were: Honorable Mention-April Daniels; 3rd place-Zack Graham, Brittany Foster and Bethany Stormes; 2nd place-Keeley Billings and Heather Jones; 1st place-Danielle Salas and Logan Loftis. Prize drawing winners were Carlissa McCoy, Josh Allen, and Matthew Carter. Thursday was TIE ONE ON AGAINST DRUGS AND BE DRUG FREE FROM YOUR HEAD TO YOUR FEET. (Students were encouraged to accessorize with hats, ties, socks, etc.) Winners were: 3rd place-Kaylee Wagner; 2nd place-Angela Grizzle and Jenifer Rogers; 1st place-Sam Manlove and Virginia Stalnacker. Prize drawing winners were Ricardo Salazar and Brody Kagen. Friday's theme was LIVING DRUG FREE IS NO SWEAT. Students were encouraged to wear sweats and to participate in the treasure hunt during the lunch break. Winners were Marcus Balentine and Brittney Seals. The sponsors of T-BAD are Cherrie McCoy, JoAnn Engle, and Sonya Pomtree. They join the entire club in thanking the students and administration for all of their support during the week. - --- MAP posted-by: Jo-D
