("Doing drugs with kids nothing but dopey," Stephen Lautens, Nov. 11) Other than, of course, the drastic difference in the usual results -- severe impairment, loss of sense of duty and inhibition, sloppy speech and behaviour -- none of which are caused by cannabis. Responsibility is key. I can smoke five joints and do a better job of parenting than most do straight. My child is too young to understand illegality. I also can score 150-plus on an IQ test while fully stoned, but I don't feel the need to spend my time writing about how parenting while straight and stupid is wrong. Get over this ill-informed fear of cannabis. D. Landry (Is that what you call a higher education?) - --- MAP posted-by: Beth Wehrman
