AMERICAN CAUGHT WITH 'MJ'

ALERT authorities at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport yesterday
arrested a 38-year-old American for alleged possession of dried
marijuana leaves.

Chief Supt. Andres Caro II, director of the Aviation Security Group of
the Philippine National Police, identified the suspect as Scott Reed,
holder of passport no. 057606488 and temporarily billeted at Orchid
Hotel, Angeles City, Pampanga.

Caro said the American was about to board a Philippine Airlines plane
bound for Cagayan de Oro City when intercepted at the NAIA Centennial
Terminal 2.

During inspection, the suspect yielded a plastic sachet containing
dried marijuana leaves.

Caro said the suspect will be turned over to the Philippine Drug
Enforcement Agency.
