A CRYSTAL CLEAR MESSAGE FOR TEENS

We've heard of kids being scared straight. But scared
unconscious?

Last week 11 Hutchinson High School students fainted during a
presentation about the dangers of methamphetamine addiction by a
former meth addict. It was hardly the first time a school in
Minnesota brought in a former drug addict to tell a harrowing tale.
For decades, former prison inmates and rehab patients have recounted
their stories to high school audiences in an attempt to dissuade them
from drug and alcohol use.

So what's going on in Hutchinson? Was it something in the water that
day? Several adults speculated that the kids fainted because the room
was warm and they skipped breakfast that morning. If that were all it
took to pass out, half of the workplaces in the country would be
strewn with unconscious employees for the first half of the day.

One thing is for sure. Meth addiction scare seminars are not for the
faint of heart.
