ANOTHER 3 MEN KILLED SUNDAY

ANOTHER three men were added to the list of slain victim in separate
incidents in Buhangin and Cabaguio Avenue, raising the count to 45, a
day before the month of January ends.

The victims were identified as Roel "Weng-weng" Tabar, 27, a jobless
resident of San Isidro, Buhangin, John Philip Serad, 23, and his
friend Achie Plaza, 23, both residents of Sarphil Village, San Antonio
in Agdao.

Police Officer 3 Samuel Gilay, Buhangin police investigator said, the
incident happened at around 3 p.m., Sunday while Tabar was watching a
basketball game at the San Isidro basketball court.

Witnesses said two armed men approached Tabar and shot him in the
neck. Tabar, though already wounded, managed to run away.

But the suspects gave chase and shot him several more
times.

The suspects sped off onboard a motorcycle after the incident while
the victim, who succumbed to five gunshot wounds, was brought by
residents to the Davao Medical Center (DMC). He died at around 4:45
p.m.

Meanwhile, Serad and Plaza were onboard the jeepney-type vehicle of
their friend named Jay Yee at around 4:30 p.m. on their way to Aquino
Gallera along J.P. Cabaguio Avenue when four men on board two
motorcycles arrived.

As related by Yee to SPO4 Ricardo Rona, Sta. Ana police investigator,
two of the men alighted and shot Serad, who was seated beside Yee, and
Plaza, who was at the back seat of the vehicle.

Yee said he alighted from his vehicle and ran away in
fear.

After a few minutes, he went back and found out Serad and Plaza bathed
in their own blood with several gunshot wounds.

Serad was hit in his forehead, head, left breast, and in the right
side of his body, while Plaza succumbed gunshot wounds in the upper
portion of his right and left ears.

The victims were declared dead on the spot by responding
policemen.

Police recovered five empty shells of a caliber .45 pistol and two
slugs of still undetermined caliber at the scene of crime.

The motive of the killing remains unknown.

Police investigators said they still have to check whether the victims
are involved in illegal activities.
