INJECTION SITES HEALTHY

The city's new proposal to create places for addicts to get clean
needles and inject safely is a wonderful idea. In doing this, Toronto
isn't encouraging drug use, but simply looking at the bigger picture.
Sharing needles and using dirty water puts users at a higher risk of
contracting HIV, which is an epidemic in today's world. These new
clean sites will reduce the risk of people contracting a disease. No
one is going to take up recreational heroin simply because the city
is handing out needles. Instead, existing addicts can be safe and
lead better lives in the hope that they will someday check into rehab.
