On behalf of the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, I would like to 
take this opportunity to congratulate the Winnipeg Free Press on the 
comprehensive coverage of crystal methamphetamine that appeared in 
the paper Dec. 10 and 11.

Over the past few weeks, Manitoba Justice has announced new 
initiatives designed to curb the production of meth. As well, the 
department of Healthy Living has released public awareness messages 
talking about the destructive nature of this drug.

The thoroughness given to this topic in your paper and the balance to 
the article has certainly contributed to educating the citizens of 
Manitoba on the dangers of any use of this highly addictive drug.
