Sanchez MARIJUANA FOR RESEARCH Re "U.S. grip on marijuana for research challenged," Dec. 12: There is only one approved source of medical marijuana in the U.S., and as Dr. Lyle Craker says "that just isn't adequate." They say marijuana drug development could help treatment of multiple sclerosis and neuropathy related to AIDS. If researchers say they want more sources of marijuana, give them the resources. There will always be people who illicitly use marijuana; but instead of stopping the people who can do some good with it, let's encourage them and hope they find a miracle drug in the plant. M.
