MARIJUANA FOR RESEARCH

Re "U.S. grip on marijuana for research challenged," Dec. 12: There is
only one approved source of medical marijuana in the U.S., and as Dr.
Lyle Craker says "that just isn't adequate." They say marijuana drug
development could help treatment of multiple sclerosis and neuropathy
related to AIDS. If researchers say they want more sources of
marijuana, give them the resources.

There will always be people who illicitly use marijuana; but instead
of stopping the people who can do some good with it, let's encourage
them and hope they find a miracle drug in the plant.
