CALL TO 'INFORM' ON DRUG DEALERS

A new campaign encouraging people to give the police information on drug
dealers in their area is being launched by the Scottish Executive.

The six-week UKP1m publicity campaign is to be paid for by money seized
under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Posters and newspaper ads with the slogan "The dealers don't care, do you?"
will appear over the next few weeks in communities across Scotland.

First Minister Jack McConnell will launch the campaign in Barrhead.

He will be meeting residents on an estate in the East Renfrewshire town to
hear of the misery caused by drug dealers, to individuals and the community.
