The statistics cover 43 land, air and marine ports of entry throughout the pacific region. The report found that 617 drug seizures were made at the airport. That included 15 kg of heroin, 21 kg of opium, 100 kg of steroids, 11 kg of cocaine, 10,000 doses of ecstasy and 39 kg marijuana. However, that still only made up a fraction of the total 2,174 drug seizures CBSA made over the year at other Canadian entry points. The vast majority of currency seizures (611 of 732) on the other hand, were made at the airport. On the weapons front, CBSA made 216 seizures of everything including everything handguns, semiautomatic pistols, switchblades, brass knuckles and grenades at the airport. As well, three children were rescued from attempted abductions. - --- MAP posted-by: Terry Liittschwager
