OUTLAWING MARIJUANA DOESN'T WORK

So it begins. Blood has been spilled in the marijuana war (Gazette, March 
4, "Lone gunman takes his own life after slaying RCMP officers").

I think every Canadian should look in the mirror right now and ask why four 
of Canada's finest have just died in our service. The only two ways to 
prevent this in the future is to stop the use of marijuana or to legalize it.

We have tried to stop the use for more than a generation and have achieved 
the opposite. I think Canada is now mature enough to regulate the sale and 
use of marijuana safely and effectively. So everybody wake up. People's 
lives are in our hands.
