POT PROHIBITION FAILING

Re: the March 15 letter Grow-ops will remain:

I think the letter writer is living in the past.

The roads are already filled with stoned drivers, young people smoke pot
now more than ever, and there is medical research from Spain that says
marijuana contains chemicals that fight cancer.

Marijuana is here to stay, and prohibition is proving to be a resounding
failure, just as it was in the past.

Our choices are clear though: We can continue the black market and
unfettered use that we have now, or we can attempt to regulate and control
it, like we did with alcohol.

It is now easier for kids to get pot than it is for them to get booze or
cigarettes. Let's at least try to keep it out of the hands of kids.
