ALL DRUG USERS

Our American culture is very good at labeling "other" people. In the
"Green butter" article, marijuana smokers are referred to as
"druggies" and alcohol consumers as "drunks." In my opinion, the
connotation presented here is that a "druggie" and a "drunk" are two
different entities and should be regarded as such. However, the
reality is that there is little or no difference; both are drug users.
It's too bad that that this division between drug users exists. After
all, tobacco smokers, athletes who use steroids, wine drinkers, Viagra
users, coffee drinkers, anti-depressant users, over-the-counter cold
remedy users-the list goes on and on-are all, in reality, drug users.
Maybe it's time to stop labeling this drug user this and that drug
user that and call a spade a spade, which is that very few of us in
this country are not some sort of "drug user."
