After two town councillors, who volunteer on Vauxhall Emergency Medical Services, attended a Lunch and Learn session in Taber on Monday, Vauxhall is further ahead in being proactive when it comes to meth use. Since meth is highly addictive, easily assessable and cheap to make, encouragement to fight back against its use is something no community should ignore. At the session, which was held by Taber Community Against Drugs (TCAD), those in attendance learned what ingredients are used to make meth and when to be suspicious of shoppers who are buying the products needed to produce the drug. Business owners should be aware of items used to make meth, so they do not accidentally contribute to use of one of the most destructive street drugs. Those at the session were given posters indicating ingredients that can be used to make meth. Vauxhall's Co-op Agro Centre and Co-op Food Store are setting an example by posting the signs in their businesses. Perhaps the Vauxhall Business Association could provide assistance to other business owners, so they can display posters at their establishments as well. Maybe Vauxhall could form a group like Taber's TCAD group to battle the drug problems here. - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
