WOMAN IN GROW-OP FALLS TO HER DEATH

As police investigated a water leak at a local apartment building
Saturday, a woman plunged to her death from the unit's balcony.

Police were called to the Martha Eaton Way building near Trethewey and
Black Creek drives to look into a complaint of water leaking from a
15th-floor unit.

Police reports said the occupants refused to open the door, and a
woman in the apartment tried to climb to the balcony below.

Thi Thuy Pham, 45, fell to the ground and was pronounced dead at the
scene.

Officers found a marijuana grow operation in the apartment. A large
number of plants had already been harvested, reports said.

The Nguyen, 33, is charged with producing and possessing marijuana for
the purpose of trafficking as well as three counts of failing to
comply with a recognizance.
