The City of Leduc is a vibrant and growing community. We are large enough to offer all the amenities, but still small enough to retain the sense of community so important in this fast paced world we live in. Crime prevention programs are vital to maintaining the integrity of our community. Our city council members are extremely proud of our relationship with the RCMP and the high level of quality services we receive throughout the year. This year we added two new officers and have initiated a Community Drug Action Committee. The city also offers a comprehensive set of programs and services through our community services department. By working in a proactive manner to prevent the occurrence of crime and the development of criminal behaviour in our families and youth, we help our community now and into the future. Innovative outreach initiatives, all offered free of charge, include community barbecues, public education, youth outreach, support groups and leisure opportunities. By making positive lifestyle choices, families can help to create a community that will not tolerate crime of any type. Crime prevention is not just the responsibility of peace officers. It is up to all of us to work together to prevent vandalism, violence, drug abuse, and crime. If you notice any suspicious activity call the RCMP. If you have concerns about lifestyle choices, your family or your friends, information from Family and Community Support Services is available at (780) 980-7109 or www.leduc.ca. Working together, we can create a safe community to call home. - --- MAP posted-by: Elizabeth Wehrman
