SCANDAL OF DRUG INCREASE

THE number of cocaine users has QUADRUPLED under Labour, figures showed
last night.

An estimated 755,000 said they had taken it in the 12 months before the survey.

And more than a MILLION used Class A drugs in Britain last year -- an
all-time high.

A further three million used other illegal substances.

Shadow Home Secretary David Davis said: "Hard drug use has gone up almost a
third since Labour came to power.

"The Government haven't lost the war on drugs, in fact they haven't even
begun to fight it."

Figures show nearly half of all pupils caught playing truant confessed to
using drugs.

Many admitted taking heroin, crack and cocaine.

More than 11 million in the 16 to 59 age group in England and Wales have
used drugs at some point.

Nightclubbers and pubbers are more likely to be drug takers.

PM Tony Blair is planning a U-turn over the downgrading of cannabis from
Class B.
