SERIOUSLY, *SO* NOT SATIRE - OR WAS IT?

To Danny Mendlow,

Eureka! Thank you for your fresh insights into the abhorrent situation
on the Downtown Eastside. I think your ideas offer a swift and
long-overdue final solution to the plagues of scabrous junkies and
hopeless wretches that line these streets and will be the final push
that returns our wonderful city to its intended purity. In time, we
will have our living space returned to us. See, these junkies are like
rats and the Eastside of Vancouver is the sewer they clamor to mutate
and die in and, in the event such acts become necessary, let the
thunderous clatter of smashed Eastside shop windows sound our rallying
cry for action.
