A SIMPLER DRUG SOLUTION

Re "Prescription heroin? It might just work" (Editorial, June 8). Our
grandparents must have been a lot smarter than we are. They didn't waste
time dreaming up a scheme to provide booze by prescription to alcoholics
when they realized prohibiting alcohol was causing more harm than good. They
simply ended alcohol prohibition.

The best way of reducing the harm and heartbreak inflicted by illegal drugs
on users and non-users alike is to end drug prohibition.
