On Wednesday evening last week, police were called to four overdose incidents. Three survived but one woman in her 40s died, Insp. Clark Russell said. Saturday morning Victoria police were called to a Douglas Street motel where they found another woman, 39, who had died of an apparent overdose. "The preliminary investigation is that she probably died Friday night," Russell said. He said police, who have not yet interviewed the overdose victims who survived, are waiting for toxicology reports to definitely identify the drug involved. "I'm far from being a drug expert so I'm not sure if it's too powerful or the wrong combination or what. It's hard to say," he said. - --- MAP posted-by: Beth Wehrman
