KIDS FAIL TO SHOW REMORSE FOR SMOKING DOPE

YOU HAVE to marvel at the sweet innocence of youth, or should that be
outright brazenness?

This week, the Mounties swooped on a large group of Pictou students,
who were in the habit of socializing outside a local store and calmly
smoking dope.

Some 50 youngsters have been rounded up, causing a massive logistical
problem as police and school authorities try to sort everyone out and
issue summonses and suspensions.

Are the teens embarrassed? Are they contrite?

Not in the least. Some of them are quite indignant and protesting loudly.

It was only drugs, for heaven's sake! Where's the harm?

No doubt their peers everywhere are echoing the exasperation.

Something tells me we should raise the voting age to 40 before it's too late.
