None addressed the issue as to why their deaths happen. Prohibition by the U.S. government was the cause of their deaths. Neither died from the use of a drug. Mr. Shannon died because the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force did nothing to protect their informant. Mr. Trickey would not have died if the substance were a legal regulated product. Murder over alcohol ended when it was re-legalized. It's time to chart a new course in the war on drugs. A legal, regulated, and taxed course would be relief on the taxpayer.
